Hyperinflation

Press (Russian Art Focus)

Gorshkov is a representative of the “Voronezh wave” in contemporary Russian art. He started his creative career together with two other Voronezh residents who have achieved success on the Moscow art scene – Arseny Zhilyaev and Ilya Dolgov.

The artist is known for rethinking traditional art devices in a bold, “hooligan” manner.

Producing recognizable monster-like semi-abstract images, the artist uses mutated organic matter and deformed human figures in a variety of techniques – total installation, painting, glitch art, collage, public art, sculpture. The materials that the artist uses to create his objects are wood, toys, fabric, enamelled metal.
